A film about a holiday trip to Italy. We see the sea, beaches and people bathing. Rio Marina island is portrayed. Due to a local ore mine, one part of the island is not very popular among tourist. The film shows the old parts of town and people enjoying the beach. In direct contrast, it continues with footage of workers in the ore mine and Italian farmers cultivating the land. Pleasure and work alternate; on one side of the island there are beautiful beaches, while the ore mines are situated on the other side. Barkers extol their merchandise on Italian markets. The island's population is poor.
