ACTUALITY. March past of several troops of Boys Brigade in front of spectators and
official guests at an event in Glasgow. Same venue as in n.697, also same camera position and
same uniformed men on horseback spectating. Replacement titles (0.09). A man on horseback leads
troops of marching Boys Brigade, who are all carrying (imitation ?) rifles in the shoulder-arms
position. Cut (0.22). Another man on horseback salutes the uniformed spectators on horseback as
he goes past them, leading more troops of marching Boys Brigade. Cut (0.52). Shot from a
different angle (the same as the one for the pipe band in n.697). Another man on horseback leads
another set of marching Boys Brigade troops. Cut (1.15). Shot from another angle, opposite the
stand in front of which are two military men wearing bearskins on horseback. More Boys Brigade
march past (1.38) A very short man is one of the accompanying adult leaders of one troop. Cut
(1.42). Same angle, more Boys Brigade troops (1.54). Military men wearing bearskins on horseback
hold swords on their shoulders in ceremonial stance. Camera moves slightly following the marching
boys. Cut (1.59). More troops. Cut (2.13). Camera has moved position slightly. More marching past
(2.28). A troop of Boys Brigade without rifles, and with some carrying what looks like a folded
stretcher, march by. End (2.37). NB. As in 697, the boys and men participating in the march past
have their eyes right to the spectators in military uniform on horseback. All the troops of Boys
Brigade are accompanied by at least one man in a uniform hat, sometimes carrying a military-type
stick, marching either at the side or behind their troop.
