A slpastick commedy shows a simple man who inherits a stock package. He soon gets into trouble at the time of the handover in a noble restaurant. He cannot pay but soon finds friends who lend him money but at the same time they want to get hold of the document.
in a second scene the man is at a cabaret. He is warned of thieves by e revue girl but a lady who asks him to dance steals the document from him. A wild pursuit starts. At first there is a custard-pie battle in which the revue girl gets the document back from the dancer lady. She throws it into a piano which then turns into a vehicle. The piano with the girl in it and the man chasing behind is driven trough city streets and inevitably provokes a lot of damage all over.
