The Greek navy achieved its greatest victories on 3 December 1912 and 5 January 1913, when the Greek fleet overwhelmed the Turkish one during the naval battle led by the battleships ‘Elli’ and ‘Lemnos’. As a result, the Turkish fleet did not venture in the Aegean afterwards.
