To begin with, the film illustrates some functions which the psychological observation of behaviour can have. In an extensive second section very different types of behaviour are shown and numerous features for the classification of the variety of types of behaviour are offered. It also clarifies specific difficulties offered by the various types of behaviour in behavioural observation. In the third section the question is posed how the "behavioural stream" of the individual is organized and how the observer classifies it. A hierarchical sequential principle for classification is presented. Furthermore, when looked at in more detail, it becomes clear that there are several behavioural strands in behavioural stream which continually overlap. This raises the question of how to master the observation of complex behavioural streams.
