Procession in Leeds, probably celebrating the coronation of King Edward VII (1902).
Similar to Mitchell and Kenyon 808. Procession filmed at the same point as Mitchell and Kenyon
556 but from a different angle. Floats are followed by a small bear tethered to a cart. More gigs
and carriages follow carrying well dressed people, then a lifeboat, pulled by six horses. Crew
hang out of lifeboat extending children's fishing nets to collect money. Sign on side of lifeboat
says Robin Hoods Bay Crew. A carriage follows, then marching band. Horses pull a float with a
sign on front, Britannia Colonies. People inside dressed in white tropical colonial uniform, man
in a white straw boater, and man with a long beard and hat and long gun. Someone on throne behind
dressed as Britannia. Followed by a float carrying a structure of flowers, then a marching band
of mostly flutes. Another structure wrapped in ribbons on a float, with someone seated in the
middle. Next a coach carries Co-operative Flour Mill Fire Brigade, then a carriage of men wearing
sashes. A series of carts and carriages carrying banners, one saying, Success. Marching men in
uniform, then a carriage carrying a sign saying, Marshals Judges and men in top hats. One doffs
his hat to camera, police horses, people walking along behind. Camera pans left over crowds, and
settles on crowds, men wave at camera. Pans left again. (2.39) CU crowds from back of a cart
