A promotion film of the Republikánská strany zemědělského a malorolnické ho lidu (the Republican Party of Agricultural Workers and Small Farmers), made at the occasion of the 1928 election. Performed scenes document hard life of villagers in the past centuries. When Prince Svatopluk was dieing, he sent for his three sons and warned them against disconcord and disunion. However they had not taken his advice into consideration and they ruined their own country. The most suffering part of population then were farmers who were subjected by foreign nobility and their henchmen. Villains were subjected to corvée. Also when being at home they could never feel safe from the hate and low greed of their rulers. Any pleas or complaints did not find any response. All rebellions aimed against the subhuman constrain led by Jan Sladký - Kozina, Jakub Kubata or Juro Janošík, were always brutally suppressed. The reason being that farmers lacked unity then. They failed to set a clear programme and objectives. In 1928 the situation was different. Czech and Slovak farmers may find support in politicians of the Republikánská strana zemědělského a malorolnického lidu (The Republican Party of Agricultural Workers and Small Farmers). The party was established at the end of the 19th century and it soon became a leading political power. The party defends interests of farmers also in its newspapers. It offers a programme on the base of which our province may keep flourishing.
