Five years old Lotta lives with her Family in a small village in Sweden. The Christmas holliday have just started. The mother gives her an order: She should bring some fresh baked bread to the neightbour and throw away the garbage. But then a mishap happens: Instead of the garbage she throws the bag with the bread away. But fortunately the dustman noticed the mishap and saved the bag from the garbage. When she arrives at home, her father tells the Family that this year they couldn't have a Christmas tree, because there are insufficient Christmas tree for sale. The Kids are very sad. Later Lotta goes to the Petrol Station to buy a Magazine for her aunt. Then she sees are huge truck load up with a lot of Christmas trees. She asks the truck Driver if she could buy one from him, but he says no. But the truck is driven to fast an inadvertently ther fall an Christmas tree away. The petrol pump attendant encourages her to pick up the tree. So she packs th tree on her sledge and goes home. When she arrived home the hole Family is very happy about the tree and that they can celebrate Christmas with Christmas tree.
