Documentation about the life at a fishing village.

The film leads along rocky cliffs to a modest village and accompanys the residents trough a hole day. In the early morning men and also young boys are going to the harbour. The fishing boats gets ready to leave the harbour for the open sea. The fishnets were checked and repaired if needed before the fishermen cast them. While the fishes are netted, the men treat themself to a meal.

In the village, the residents running their everyday life. Women knot the fishnets, a man transport his goods with a cart trhough the village, the laundry is pegged up on leads in front of the windows.

Back to the fishing boats on the sea: the catch is eyed up, "clippings" were thrown back to the water, the fishes were graded and splited on baskeds.

In the evening, about 6 o'clock, the fishermen are coming back and the people gather at the harbour to examine the catch. At dusk, the men are going to the tavern and tell each other the events of the day.

A smaller group of men is leaving the village by boat to catch some fishes in the darkness. Not until dawn they return with their rich loot.
