In Konzentrationen von 0,5 x 10{6} Zoosporen pro ml aqua dest. bilden sich auf den Wirtsblättern zunächst Verdichtungen von Zoosporen, die aus der Umgebung weitere Zoosporen chemotaktisch anlocken. Im Zentrum der Verdichtung setzen sich die Zoosporen fest, enzystieren und keimen aus. Die Keimschläuche verhalten sich chemotropisch: die Zysten der Aggregation wachsen aus dem Zentrum heraus, außerhalb der Aggregation liegende Zysten wachsen auf das Zentrum zu. Mit Zeitraffung.
