Patients suffering from hemispatial neglect behave as if one half of the world ceased to exist - mostly the left one: In books and newspapers they only read the text on the right side, in rooms they tend to ignore persons to their left, and they even neglect the left side of their body, thus washing, combing, shaving and putting on make-up on its right side only. The reason for this behaviour is a brain damage, mostly caused by a stroke. With the help of numerous examples the film informs about the pathology, diagnostics and therapy of this neuropsychological syndrome and discusses different explanatory hypotheses.
