Die Libelle Megaloprepus ist zur Fortpflanzung auf periodische Pfützen in Baumlöchern und Bromeliaceen im tropischen Regenwald spezialisiert. Territoriale Männchen verteidigen diese Ressourcen hartnäckig. Die Weibchen legen ihre Eier in die Wasserlöcher der Reviermännchen und werden von ihnen bewacht. Versucht ein Männchen ohne Territorium (ein sog. Satellitenmännchen) ein Weibchen zu ergreifen, so wird es vom Reviermännchen vertrieben. Mit Zeitdehnung.
