Connections - the movie illustrates the different ways and manners of transport of information, goods and products by showing modern information and communication technology. Pictures of automated sorting systems for postservices and transport of goods, electronic money transfer, cashless payment transactions etc.

The German-French joint project "Symphonie": a satellite system for the transfer of information; modern telephony.

The movie notes the challenges in view of the growing world population and its increasing needs of exchange of information. These requirements are illustrated by using a kind of collage / cross fading of pictures of human communication in different situations, languages and realities.
In view of the increasing data amount and complexity of global communication the film stresses the need of creating connections and promoting human understanding.
