An older woman boils aniline dye in water and dyes a white woolen cloth yellow in it. After drying, date stones are bound symmetrically into the material with thin threads. Red dye is then added to the yellow water and the yellow cloth, with its innumerable knots is dyed dark red in this solution. After drying it is washed with soap and cold water. After drying once more, the knots are loosened; the bindings have formed a yellow rectangular pattern with poorly defined edges in the red cloth.
