The film shows the progress of the six legged Axolotl on land in normal and high speed takes (24 f/s and 48 f/s). The experimental animal was produced by a union of parts from two embryos. The interval of the forelegs from the centre legs is varyingly great. The movement co-ordination of this hexapod is compared with that of a normal animal.
