The film shows an adult female Common wombat (Vombatus ursinus) in an outdoor enclosure and documents walking, eating and digging of a hole. Wombats are plantigrad and use the cross-walk and the amble. A tuft of gras is fed on. When digging a hole the wombat always scrapes several times after another with only one forepaw and throws the loose soil behind with one or two strong movements of a hind-paw. Its body always rests on three extremities while digging.
