This film shows the manufacture of a brass dish by the technique of casting in a dead mold. First a casting made of wood (guarantees standard production) is coated with wax and the resulting wax model - still resting on the mold block - is sheated in moist loam. Then the model is loosened from the mold block and the interior is also coated with clay, whereby casting channels and casting attachment are mounted. The clay mold is then dried and the wax is melted out. The casting material is poured into the resulting cavity. After cooling, the clay coat is broken off. The dish now completed in raw casting is then polished. Two examples of chased work close the film.
