Assistant to the Botanical Institute of Charles University Vladimir Krajina made a journey around the world. His first stop was Paris. He sailed the Atlantic Ocean to the USA. Here was his attention drawn primarily to major cities with their everyday street traffic (New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco). Then he stopped at Cuba Island, in the capitol Havana. Then his journey ran through Panama Canal and Pacific Ocean to Hawaii. There here was captivated not only by exotic nature but also by the life of native inhabitants. Many of them had so far been wearing cloths made of natural material (flowers, grass, feathers), using traditional working tools, living in shacks of reed and knew the local dances (Hula dance). Even this place has however been penetrated by civilization that markedly affected the life, especially in the cities. The livelihood was based on fishing, crab hunting and sugar cane processing. Immigrants from Japan and Chine had their paddy fields.
Tourists were attracted by sea beaches and modern hotels. The next destination of the trip was Japan with its Buddhist palaces and sanctuaries (Kyoto). Travelling through the Asian continent, Vladimir Krajina was now stopping only in major cities (Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Aden). The last place to be shown in the film was Egypt with its ancient sights (pyramids, sphinx).
