    Résumé:
  • eng
A strong and well-developed large-scale subtropical jet stream crosses Mexico. At the same time, just east of the Rocky Mountains, the cloud masses of a trough consolidate after having crossed the mountains. As they move south into the large-scale baroclinic zone, new very short waves develop. Convective activity is diurnally enhanced along the large-scale cold front. When the new consolidated cyclone travels further northeast, the dryair surges well in advance at high levels and uncovers the mid-level comma tail or cold conveyor belt, which again is diurnally enhanced. Particularly during the last phase of development, the typical large-scale split flow configuration is revealed by a new wave crossing the Rocky Mountains. At the beginning of the scene, south of New Foundland, a cyclone can be observed cutting off from the westerlies.
