A mountain farmer from canton of Glarus prepares himself to climb up the mountains to make hay. He installs wheels to his sledge, loads the scythe and rake on it and pulls it as far as possible. After a while, all must be carried on the farmers back. In the steep hayfield, climbing irons are needed to make hay. When the hay is dry, it is packed into a net, carried to the storage shed and from there, still on the farmers back and later on the sledge, brougth down to the valley. In newer times, there are sometimes simple ropeways installed to bring the hay down.
