Main (replacement) titles (00.09). Shot of a steam ferry coming in to dock, on a choppy
sea. The word Snowdrop is on the back of the ferry. A man on the harbourside steps forward to
catch a rope thrown by a seaman on board. The lower deck is full of passengers (00.34). The ferry
is tied up (00.52). The passengers, largely men and boys, mill about on deck (01.21). The seaman
on board unlatches a door in the side of the boat and slides it across (01.30). A gangplank is
lowered from the dockside and all the passengers surge up it (01.32). Cut. One man appears to be
carrying a set of golf clubs (01.34). Passengers continue to disembark (01.38). Cut. A young man,
one of the last to disembark, goes up the gangplank carrying a large basket and other packages on
his back (01.45 minutes). Note: Most of the men are wearing coats and bowler hats and it is
probable that they are going to or from work
