A small group of Noanamá made up of a young woman and two children go out in a canoe to find some sugar cane from which to make fresh sugar cane juice. They cut come sugar can, bring it home and there it is out through the sugar cane press called trapiche. In this work several women are involved, either operating the machine or feeding the sugar cane stalks into it. The sugar cane juice drips and collects in a wooden dish underneath, specially brought in for this purpose. When enough has been obtained a small girl picks up a gourd and dips it into the vessel to drink the fresh juice.
