The film starts with a comparison of the value of a toy robot with low value to play compared with a self made toy of children in Africa.

the theme of the film is continued with a taxation of the historic development and introduction of technology and it is stated that still the same principles of profit maximization hold.

Prof. Reddy defines the term adapted technology.

the concept of adapted technologies is illustrated with two examples of well digging in India and earthquake houses built in Guatemala.

A discussion of adapted small and large technologies follows. The relation to adapted is always to be considered in view of the development level of a country.

With a look on nuclear technology and small scale wind energy technology it is said that some technologies might never be adapted technology.

Next follows that by selling non adapted technology to developing countries the incline technology versus developing country is cemented. Certain technologies only can be used by privileged members of a society. China is mentioned as a positive example of a country that could have mastered the concept of adapted technologies.

The film closes with a repetition of the critique on nuclear energy and other non adapted technologies.
