Einteilung der komplexen Fußbewegungskomponenten: Dorsalextension, Plantarflexion (oberes Sprunggelenk), Valgisierung und Varisierung (hinteres unteres Sprunggelenk), Pronation und Suppination (vorderes unteres Sprunggelenk). Zwischen den drei Hauptbelastungspunkten Ferse, Metatarsalköpfchen I und V spannt sich das Fußgewölbe. Bei der Inspektion achtet man besonders auf Calcaneusstellung, Vorfuß, Fußgewölbe und Beschwielung. Palpatorische Beurteilung von lokalen Druckschmerzpunkten und passiver Beweglichkeit der Gelenke bei gebeugtem Knie. Demonstration der "Neutral-Null-Methode". Prüfung des Bandapparates und der aktiven Beweglichkeit. Typische Befunde mit Berücksichtigung der physiologischen Varianten.
