The young clerk Zdenka Marková is convinced of her irresistability and she tells the audience her story which is also meant to convince them of this. Her first employer coveted her in secret and he masked his interest in her by giving her work to do. She ignored him and continued reading her book. Then she was suddenly transferred to another office. Her next boss was fat and bald. Despite this, he also made advances towards her even when he saw she was knitting a sweater. He could not overcome his desire and handed in his notice. Zdenka was again transferred. This time she decided to keep out of her third employer's way and went to drink coffee with her colleagues in a buffet across the road. This man, however, shouted something to her about adhering to the stipulated work hours and about badly written time-sheets. The misunderstood woman who had bravely resisted the advances of her employers, was finally given her notice.
