This film is a portrait of an old man, Fritz Marti, who lives alone with his numerous cats in Grandval, near Moutier. He lost his father when he was a child and also never learned an occupation he liked. He's been domestic in farms all his life. Widowed since a couple of years, he devotes his retirement to smoke sausages for a pork butcher of the region.
