The film shows the events during a boat trip of several days down the mountain torrents of the Albanian alps right into the heart of Bosnia. The journey begins on Lake Plav in Montenegro, the lake's outlet forms the Lim River. A Montenegrin lights a cigarette with a flint, provisions are packed. After a while the town of Andrijevica appears, we see local houses. Scenes from a coffee house, a bakery, foliage scythes sharpened on an anvil, market day and mills by the river are captured on film. Obstacles hinder the progress of the journey: a tree trunk blocks the way, a boat needs to be fixed. The camera observes a rich harvest of damsons and the feeding of chicken at a chicken coop. The group meets a local who was once an imperial and royal corporal. The film continues with pictures of Berane, one of the six municipalities in Montenegro belonging to the Sandžak region. In 1912, the Balkan War began in Berane. The group visits a Greek Orthodox church that survived the days of the Turkish Empire, we see views of the church interior. Rain showers have rendered the riverbanks muddy, an Albanian points out a suitable campsite.
