The first and most important of the annual feasts in Oku commemorating the deceased is the ceremony organized by the Royal Palace. The largest part of the feast consists of the dances of the mask societies. After the Khegebshuh mask has arrived from a neighbouring village and appeared in front of the spectators, other mask groups perform their dances, accompanied by their own instruments (xylophone, drums): the medicine society Ngang, Ndanyi from Lui, Subi from Mboh and Nkie from Lui.
