In the first part, we are in Dubai, where the filmmaker concentrates on three different landscapes: the harbour, the desert and the city at night. In the harbour, we see small boats transporting many inhabitants, and also bigger cruise boats for tourists and the luggage on the ground, waiting to be put in the boat. In the desert, we see a camel and cars driving in the sand. We see a car helping a truck which has got stuck in the sand. In the city, the filmmaker only shows the lighted signs which show the americanization of Dubai and make the city look like a little Time Square.
In the second part, we follow David von Arx on a school trip to Sicily. He films in the plane, out of the plane, in the bus, out of the bus, and we get many images of the landscapes and of his schoolmates. In San Lorenzo, their daily life is shown: they spend a lot of time on the beach and make stupid jokes with friends. They also go to visit an ancient theatre.
In the third part, we see David and a group of friends in Tessin, where they go bathing in the Vale Maggia. In the evening, they drink and play cards. Finally, we follow David to Cologne, where he focuses on the central station and the cathedral, and to Grindelwald.
