The film shows Haliotis manner of locomotion with the aid of it's strong foot. Some of the shots shows the wave like motion of the foot muscle. For this purpose Haliotis moves across the front pane of a demonstration aquarium. Contact with a starfish causes Haliotis immediately to move at a far faster pace.
