The film starts with the breeding of the hounds of the breed Gascon Saintongeois and how the young dogs are trained. The main part of the film is about a hunting party on a chivvy with horses and dogs. The pack swarms out, the hunters on the horses are following them. Every now and then we see some stags. In the end, the hounds encircle a stag in a lake.
