To begin with the film leads us to the the life of people living at the coast and how their lives are affected by the tides through the constant change of ebb and flow. The tide difference is not only shown in the German Bay but also with the example of Mont Saint Michel, Normandy. An intentional short, theoretical, astronomical part in form of a cartoon is dedicated to the principles on the origin of tides. More details are given for presenting the living environment of the tidelands and the situation in case of a storm flood is envisioned impressively. The film ends with a note about the endangerment of the coastal line through climatical caused rising of sea level, for which humans are jointly responsible.
