Der ein bis mehrere Millimeter großer Protist der Familie Reticulomyxidae ist von einer dünnen, flexiblen Hülle umgeben. Durch eine pseudostomaartige Öffnung wird ein Pseudopodium nach außen gestreckt, das sich verzweigt und ein retikuläres Netzwerk bildet. Hier werden Nahrungspartikel phagozytiert und anschließend zum Zentralbereich transportiert. Unverdauliche Reste werden durch die Öffnung nach außen transportiert. Zum Ortswechsel wird eine Migrationsader ausgebildet, die sich teilen kann, was einer asexuellen Fortpflanzung entspricht.
