Vanaf een boot gefilmd overzicht van houtzagerij en -schaverij langs kanaal. Boomstammen worden uit het water getrokken. In de zagerij worden de bomen machinaal in planken gezaagd. Vervolgens gaan de planken door een schaafmachine. De gestapelde planken worden naar de voorraadloodsen gebracht en opgeslagen.
