A film dating back to 1931 documents activities of the Czech and Slovak legionnaires in France during the World War I. - The Czechoslovak government had its seat in Paris - Rue Bonaparte 34. - The 21st Firing Regiment left by a freight train for the front. Soldiers took an oath of the Czechoslovak legions. They were presented a flag as a gift by the City of Paris. A military show followed. The regiment's headquarters was based in Sentheim, the military camp was located in Camp Betelec. Among its features there was a field kitchen and field smithy. - On the show of the victorious allied troops, President Poincaré awarded also Czech and Slovak soldiers. - The 22nd Firing Regiment left for the front. - In Cognac, a celebration of the Czechoslovak independence was held on November 4. The 23rd Firing Regiment held a military show.
