By means of the magneto-optic Kerr effect, Weiss domains (tiny crystal-parts) can be made visible and their changes followed as a magnetic field is set up. Simple magnetic reversal processes, caused by the displacement of Bloch walls, on the surface of a (100)-FeSi monocrystal are shown, as well as the complex processes on the face of a square monocrystal, and the linking of flow-ring systems, as saturation approaches. Another section of the film proves how the zone structure in the demagnetized state is a function of the frequency of the demagnetizing field.
