A simple plot illustrates conflicts between German and Turkish children.


Life is hard for nine-year old Nazmiye. She is often ridiculed by her fellow pupils because she is a Turkish girl and wears a headscarf. When Torsten rips the scarf off her head on her way home, she has an argument with her father. Nazmiye's big sister comes to her defense. Later, the doorbell rings. Two girls have convinced Torsten to return the headscarf. Nazmiye's mother invites the children to dinner. On this occasion the children learn about Turkish food and ways of life.
