Main (replacement) title (00.08). Procession walking to camera through the brick arches
of a bridge. Under the arches are posters, and posters also stuck on a building to the right of
the bridge but the wording is not decipherable. Columns of soldiers, the Boy's Brigade(?) with
rifles, a brass band. A horse-drawn carriage with a man in ceremonial dress carrying a mace
sitting next to the driver; the occupant of the carriage is not seen. Another carriage and brief
shot of the Mayor of Accrington. Men in dark coats and top hats walk behind the Mayor's carriage,
a column of soldiers led by a man twirling a baton. Boy's holding the ribbons from a banner for
the Society of Railway Workers, a brass band, dense crowd of people, including firemen, receding
into the distance (3.46mins). Note: Thornber was the name of an influential family in or near
Accrington.
