The weaver Uda Tori makes preparations for weaving. Then he starts weaving. He passes the shuttle carrying the weft through the shed, depresses with his foot the treadle to open the shed for the next throw, and beats up the weft with the comb. When the weaving has reached a certain length, the weaver fits the harness into the next notch. Finally the harness is so far from him that he must take it back.
