This educational film shows the audience the centuries-old rural wedding traditions in Carinthia, a Southern Austrian state situated within the Eastern alps. The day before the wedding the groom still has to pay for the passage of the "Kammerwagen", a chariot that brings his bride to their new home, through the streets. A strange custom requests that the minister leads the bride on his arm from the church to the wedding feast. The wedding night is disturbed by the young fellows of the village who sing and throw pieces of broken glas against the walls.
