Film (probably shot from a tram) going up a Bradford street past various pedestrians,
men doing road works, and horse-drawn carriages and goods vans. Main (replacement) title. Camera
goes slowly past three parked horse- drawn carriages. Round the corner various pedestrians - a
mixture of men, women and boys(00.44). Camera moves to focus on several people in the road
straight ahead. An entrance to a park at the end of the road (00.55). Several workmen in the road
(either doing road or tramline repairs). Two policemen stand near the roadworks (01.10). Camera
swings round to pedestrians on the pavement and road then back again to the roadworks and people
coming out of the park gates (01.22). Camera swings round to pedestrians again, including
cyclists and parked carriages in the road, and two men and two women in the road holding up a
poster (01.26). Sudden swing of camera to people and children on other side of the road in front
of park entrance (01.34). A man in a uniform (postman?) runs out of the park gates, past parked
carriages, one with a horse eating from a nosebag (01.40). Cut to open-top tram with number 91
fastened on lower half at the front coming towards camera (advert for 'Ogdens cigarettes' on top
front). Tram stops and people on top wave at the camera (01.49). Cut. Crocodile of girls, most
dressed identically, walks by (02.01). Parked horse-drawn carriage with 'Bradford Pearl (?)
Bakery Company Sutton & Co.' on the back and sides (02.09). Past 'The Spotted House'
(presumably a pub) on the left (a plaque for a Cycling Club is on the side of the building)
(02.29). Past a parked (horseless) van with 'Williams Railway Vans 27 Fo(r)ster Square Bradford
Yorks.' on the back (outside large house with railings)(02.35 minutes). Note: Ride from the city
centre, along Manningham Lane to the gates of Lister Park and beyond. Electric cars were in the
process of replacing the steam cars of Bradford Tramways & Omnibus Company, whose leases
of corporation-built lines were shortly to expire. Information provided by Patrick Kellier and
