In Cherasco, a small town in the Piedmont Langhe (province of Cuneo), there is not much life left. It used to be a lively town in the past, and there was a time when wealthy Piedmont families used to come to Cherasco to spend their holidays. After the end of the Second World War, however, things slowly changed. Unemployment forced the people to leave the town and to move to the industrial cities. The windows of the houses are now bolted and only a few dogs walk in the streets of this desolate place. Some old women mourn over their dead in the cemetery in an atmosphere that seems almost unreal.
