The movie is about alcoholism. There is the lifestory of René Steiger been told, who has died because of an driving accident, while he was drunk.
A doctor tells the consequences of the consumption of alcohol for the organism.
Then different People, friends, the ancient employer of Mr. Steiger, his wife are speaking about Renés life.

Then there is a report of the big deal of enterprises and advertisement with alcohol.

In the end one of Renés drink mates and his wife tell about Renés decline.
