The principle of alternating figuration playing has a special meaning for Balinese music. In this context, a figuration element is broken into exemplary rhythmic formulas, each of which is performed by a special player and are woven perfectly smoothly into one another, as it were. The subject of the film is the Oncangan rhythmic practised on rice trough as well as their transference to matched instruments: slotted drums, Jews' harps, as well as Angklung orchestra.
